Re: [www.keralites.net] Important facts about idea star singer

The issue of sending sms is not because of rs.3. they are asking sms for a candidate who may be eliminated already.  This is cheating and not acceptable in any way. our people has to be educated about this.
for eg.
candidate A sings on monday and asks for sms.
tuesday is the elimination round and people still keep on sending sms. on tuesday candidate A is eliminated.
now watch at the end of episode.. what they are showing????
yes, the highlights of Wednesday's episode. ie. the episode afer the elimination is ready with them while they keep on asking for sms. and poor music lovers....

again regarding the entertainment fees of rs.3
if we are supposed to pay for the entertainment on tv, then we must send sms for every movie, every serial, news bulletien, and even for the entertaining advertisements.
Man, there is big money on the ad breaks that takes more time than the actual music. the money comes from our pocket who buys everything for soft and fair skin, silky long and strong hair and also for samthriptamaya dambatya jeevitham..
so friends, let those who sell their products pay a part of their huge profit for our entertainment. PLEASE DONT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY TO SUPPORT THIS CHEATING.

Dear Mr.engeekay2003,

Things are taken in a wrong way. My dear, what I told informative is not M.G Sreekumar teaching you Oxford English or Sarath's comedy (if u r looking for a comedy show I advise you to better watch mimics 2010/or any other, don't waste your time on sarath. It's not exceptional joking). A good listener always finds music value on star singer, that's why the show keeps on going. All 3 judges are exceptionally talented and proved their metals in their field.

Sri.K J Yesudas (The best singer ever and my role model) is against reality shows but unfortunately two programmes are aired by kairali Channel ( Gandharva sangeetham and Gandharvasangeetham teens) using his name. Why didn't he ask them to stop it? (There is no SMS voting, I do agree, but still it's a sponsored competition funded by third parties. That money is not coming from thin air; it's also the money of the public). Unfortunate isn't?

It's a two sided coin man. We all must agree that. You have to see both sides. I am sure star singer will be aired for n number of coming years and it will be a success. Even event management teams are appointed by parents to send SMS to their child. When this well known fact existing, why don't the so called big musicians oppose it? Because, one way or another, it's a bread and butter for them also. Not only for these guys, can't you see plenty of other people living based on this? (If u could take reality shows worldwide). It's a business let them run their show. Even though they advertise you to watch their shows it's your prerogative to support them or not. Right now it's a success that means the show is widely accepted.

I never try to devalue Mr. Salam's calculations. You wrote me that he has got concrete proof. "Rs.3. per SMS and roughly 1 lakh sms per day for 1 year =Rs. 10.95 crores!!!". This is an imagined rough figure used by him and you are saying that it's concrete proof. What man come on, don't allow unnecessarily raising your blood pressure by imagined facts & figures. This is the subject people can come out with lots of pros and corns and people can discuss it for years. It's not the only one reality show aired, most of the shows are copied or inspired from US (American idol) or UK channels. Tell me how you brilliant guys are going to stop this so called cheating.

You know, something that I just don't understand is, if somebody spent RS. 3 or more from his pocket, simply because he felt he is entertained by the participant, then for what the hell you people are getting worried or frustrated over it? But you guys can really stop it. The best way is cry..cry ..cry and keep on crying with the subject as much as possible like doing now. I hope you guys definitely get the desired milk today or tomorrow. My best wishes for you to get the first packet of it.

I am not completely for or against of any reality shows. My policy is if you want to watch, watch it unless utilize that valuable time as you wish. (Same as in case SMS also). It's absolutely your wish. One thing I am sure, by reading you people comments, the real viewers are not going to stop watching Star singer. If they were so, Asianet could stop it at the first year itself. But another thing I am sure, you people will watch the show and cry over it again and again. I fear it's your mental issue. But sorry guys, the show must go on........ ........!

Best Regards to all,
Varun

Dear Mr Varun,

I really appreciate your way of "crticizing another critic"....my hats off to you..well done....
But the fact is that, the "impression your words would have created on the
other readers would be lesser than what "the heartfelt feelings or sentiments" expressed by Mr Salam.
On one side, you are agreeing that the channels are, "fooling" or "hurting" the viewers sentiments.. ..as you yourself have expressed the feeling that "you got cheated".....on "Vivekanands" / "Dannys" issue....!
On the other side, you are saying the number of the SMS are being shown as "inflated" and that many SMSs are not going thru / sent by the
public...... But you dont have any concrete proof for that...whereas Mr Salam has come out with his way of proving things...dont you agree ? hence your arguments can be taken as a mere "postulate" or "theoretical".....!
Thirdly, you have mentioned the show being "very informative" and "entertainer"...I am yet to come across a playback singer who made a "career out of singing" after starting as a competitor in any of the reality shows in TV channels..."they come today..disappear tomorrow"....thats all...Not another
DR KJY or Jayachandran has arisen out of the so-called "informative shows"....okay..? Agree...if you call the "mimicry shows" by Sarath or the "absolute Oxford way of spoken english by MG Sreekumar" as "informative" or "entertaining"...no comments for that...
In addition, as you said, with the way, Mr Salam has come out with his explanations and criticisms, he has got a definite bright future..thats for sure... because none of us, which includes you or me, could not come outwith such a thing / proof before him..at least we did not even think about it even..whereas he did a brilliant job of using his brain brilliantly. .

After all, India is a democracy, Salam has his own "right or reason for criticizing" the show, just like the way you have sided with the "money making" , "non-charitable", "marketing technique" of Asianet..."Long live non-charitable Asianet"...and "long live the ignorant poor Keralites"...who will go
go on sending SMSs to Asianet..and make these sort of "entertaining", "informative" shows, a fantastic success...!

regards to all...

Hi guys it's Varun here. Lets me present my view. I totally agree with MR. Mathew and Rajesh. I think Idea Star singer is an entertainment plus learning programme for many music lovers. If music learners those who are keen to follow judger's tips for improvement either through you tube or any other recorded version it will be a great asset for them. No doubt on that issue. Then moving on the money aspects. sending or not sending SMS is viewer's choice. As far as Asianet is concerned, it is a business not a charity. Business guys come out with many marketing technique to get the customer attraction (As they played dramas in case of Danny and Vivekanandan) . Here I believe I was cheated, but the show must go on. I also believe apart from the show, Asianet also have a marketing wing those who decide their business terms. They take decisions keeping a business in mind. Its always a headache for people those who are frustrated and bothered about others making some income out of it. As I mentioned earlier its an entertainment.

Suppose If you go for a movie you have to spend Rs. 40 + snacks (whatever it is). Here Star singer supposed to be good entertainment aired for you free from Mon-Friday, and still some people frustrated about Rs. 3 which is not something someone force them to spend. I appreciate those poor critic minds. The truth is that all SMS figures showing by channels are false. There only a few people sending SMS's ( everyone knows what is happening around) and Asianet run the show mainly with Advertisement. Criticizing only popular shows/personalities is a common thing and these guys doing it just to get some attention only, not for adding any social values. Even though Salam's calculation has got something on it, I don't think that it can create any impacts on public (since we are hearing many stories for the last 4 years) Once these critics feel they get some attention they burst on simple matters and keep a blank eye on other serious issues. Most of us would have ignored Mr. Salam's calculations if he had come out with any other reality shows rather than Star singer ( because its popular)..Dear Salam I appreciate your critic mind, use your head not for some people wasting 3 rupees, but for other serious valuable social issues. Who knows, in future your story might be lectured as the man who revamped Kerala's social system...Kudos dear..
Sorry if my words hurt someone
Warm Regards,
Varun
