This querry is meant for the senior ayurvedic practitioners and other members of the group. Hope somebody will come out with a very useful tip. Recently a mail was on circulation in this site, about the medicinal properties of "cinnamon". Though the internet gives loads and loads of the information on cinnamon, few sites do caution about the harmful effects of cinnamon. (The mail which was on circulation, had given the medical benefits of cinnamon in detail, but hiding the "real harmful effects".... The information, from other sites do say that cinnamon is hepatotoxic (meaning ,harmful to the liver ) and that it is dangerous to take cinnamon above the normal limit. But unfortunately, nowhere I could find "what this safety level" or "accepatable level for a normal human"...... Also they say that "ceylon cinnamon" is the best...and that the one usually we get across the stores are from "other coutries" whcih is more harmful due to the presence of some harmful ingredient. My querries are these. 1. What is the dosage / safety level for cinnamon intake ? (without causing any harmful effects for liver or kidney ) 2. Is the "ceylonese cinnamon" available in gulf ,/ Kerala /Tamil nadu ? Hope somebody out there will give some clue ? Please do not give me "any links" or "references" regards. engeekay2003 Note " Regret any errors which has crept in , during typing.... ( engeekay2003) |
